Hi,
I’m a platform and cloud engineering leader with 20+ years of experience building and operating infrastructure, developer platforms, and production systems. My background spans traditional infrastructure, Linux, cloud, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and DevSecOps. Throughout my career, I’ve specialized in taking systems that are difficult to operate or scale and turning them into automated, repeatable, and resilient platforms.
I’m particularly driven by the intersection of engineering, architecture, and security: designing platforms that protect confidentiality, integrity, availability, and auditability without creating friction that slows down development. I believe security is most effective when it is built directly into the platform, allowing engineers to move quickly within well-designed guardrails rather than relying on manual processes.
I’ve led and mentored engineering teams while remaining technically hands-on, working extensively across AWS, Azure, and GCP—with particular depth in AWS, Kubernetes, and IaC patterns. More recently, my focus has been on secure platform engineering, developer self-service, and embedding security and compliance directly into engineering workflows to make the right path the easiest one to take.
Alongside my technical leadership work, I operate Mawi Ventures as an umbrella for my independent technology initiatives and personal ventures. Reflecting a shared focus on balance, clear navigation, and performance, I am also a partner in SUP With Us following my certification as an ASI Level 1 SUP Instructor.
I’m currently exploring my next leadership or strategic advisory role across platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, and DevSecOps, while continuing to build out projects under Mawi Ventures.
